TYPES OF IMMIGRATION EVALUATIONS

At Linking Hands Counseling, we provide psychological evaluations for various immigration-related cases, including:

• Extreme Hardship Waivers (I-601 / I-601A)

• Asylum Evaluations

• VAWA Evaluations

• U-Visa Evaluations

• T-Visa Evaluations

• Cancellation of Removal Evaluations

Our evaluations help document the psychological and emotional impact experienced by individuals and families involved in immigration cases. By connecting hands with our clients, we ensure that their experiences are thoroughly understood and represented, providing vital support.

WHAT THE EVALUATION INCLUDES

Each evaluation typically includes:

  • Comprehensive clinical interview(s)
  • Review of psychosocial history and relevant background information
  • Psychological screening and standardized assessments when clinically appropriate
  • Review of supporting documentation when provided
  • Assessment of mental health symptoms and emotional functioning
  • Evaluation of hardship, trauma, or other relevant psychological factors related to the immigration case
  • Preparation of a detailed, professional psychological evaluation report
  • Coordination and communication with the client’s attorney when appropriate
  • Revisions to the report if requested by the attorney for clarification or legal formatting

At Linking Hands Counseling, our reports are designed to meet the professional and legal standards expected in immigration proceedings.

Our Evaluation Process

1. Free Initial Consultation

A complimentary consultation (15–30 minutes) is conducted to briefly review the case, answer questions, and determine whether an immigration psychological evaluation is appropriate.

2. Initial Payment

If services are agreed upon, 50% of the evaluation fee is required to begin the evaluation process.

3. Clinical Interviews & Assessments

Clients typically participate in 2–3 sessions, which include clinical interviews, psychological assessments when appropriate, and review of relevant documentation.

4. Remaining Payments

The remaining balance is generally divided into three payments, which are scheduled throughout the evaluation sessions.

5. Report Preparation

After the completion of all sessions and receipt of the final payment, a comprehensive psychological evaluation report is prepared and submitted to the client’s attorney for review.

6. Revisions & Final Report

If revisions are requested by the attorney, adjustments will be made as necessary before the final report is issued.

A comprehensive psychological evaluation report is prepared for legal submission, ensuring that we provide the necessary documentation to support your case.

Most immigration evaluation reports are completed within 7–14 days, depending on the complexity of the case. For those needing assistance, services like linking hands counseling can provide support. Additionally, expedited options may be available when necessary, helping you connect hands with resources like link home therapy.
